Upgrade: My System Feels Better Now
Yesterday I got my brand new DFI NF4 Ultra Infinity motherboard as well as ATI X800 GTO2 256MB PCI-E video card. I wish I got the card based on ATI R480 VPU, but unfortunately it came with R430. Not much regret, at least I was able to open all 16 pipelines, and upping the speed of VPU to 430Mhz and memory to 530Mhz (1060) … not much, but still something. As I changed my motherboard, I had to reinstall SUSE 10, which wasn’t a big deal, as all went without any hickups = everything working. Then installed the ATI drivers, also flawlessly. You may ask why I went with ATI card again, when nVidia is better option for Linux …. guess I am addicted to their cards or something like that. And also it was a bargain. Running glxgears benchmark gives me around 8500 fps and on Windows with 3DMark05 I am getting ~5500 … not bad.

Also decided to get myself a new webcam, which I for sure want working on Linux … after researching I decided to stop with Logitech Quickcam Messenger, as according to feedbacks this cam works with Linux … will try it out in coming days, little busy as of now. (if someone has suggestions on this, do let me know in comments section)
And one more thing, which is a new chair … I want comfort and to keep my posture good, as my older chair has totally lost it’s shape. So I chose the following chair. It costed me $157. Still to be delivered … can’t wait to put my ass on soft leather ![]()

So …. got my chair now. Feels much better compared to my previous one. Somehow I had better expectations from this chair, to what I paid. All-in-all = I am satisfied.
Now to my webcam setup …
